Internships: A Must for a Media Future

E-Media senior Alex Doyle spent the summer of 2009 interning at CNN world headquarters in Atlanta.  She's the fourteenth E-Media student to have that opportunity.

A total of 22 E-Media students have been sent to New York City for the summer to work at Procter and Gamble Productions in New York City.  Several of these students have stayed on in New York to build their careers.

Many students regard their internships as the most exciting part of their E-Media education.  The Electronic Media curriculum includes six credits of internship but many students take even more.  In addition to radio and television stations, students intern in a variety of media-related fields in the Cincinnati area and across the country.

Students are eligible for internships their junior and senior years. Many have formed connections while interning that have led to that all-important first job.

The E-Media Division, thanks to some generous friends, has been able to award paid internships in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and in Cincinnati to some of our top students.

Interning at CNN

For fourteen years Time Warner Cable has made it possible for E-Media students to spend the summer at CNN headquarters in Atlanta.

Alex Doyle enjoyed the internship in 2009.
