Alumni: 1940s to 1980s

The parents of most of our current students were children in 1962 when the above photo of a broadcasting class at CCM was taken.  It was provided by an active group of older alumni who have recently organized themselves into a supportive arm of E-Media.   They have a website you may want to visit.

Forrest "Frosty" Respess '48 was in the first BFA class in Radio-Television from the old College of Music.  Frosty's television career lasted 60 years and took him from Indianapolis to Peoria to St. Louis to Chicago. When he retired to Florida a station in Orlando hired him and retirement was postponed. Read more about him.

We have news of three of our alumni from the 70s and 80s.

Bob Gordon '75 is in the Nashville area, teaching at Middle Tennessee State University and running the Gordon Television Group. "My expertise is to create, produce and manage live and live-to-tape television program productions which span types from award shows to concert specials, sporting events, talk shows, magazine shows, comedies, and even practical joke series."

Dave Moody '80 is working on his Ph.D. in American Culture Studies at Bowling Green University. He is owner of DM Communications, a media buying and consulting company based in Mentor, Ohio.  In the 80s and 90s, Dave worked in radio and television in Cleveland. He continues his work as voice-over talent and has a long list of stage credits.

Amy Bruewer Nicholas '85 came back to finish her degree in 2008.  She's featured in our Student Spotlight.

Alums: Please send an update on your life, along with a photo, and we’ll post it here. We’d love to hear from you. Send your information to Professor Fox.
