Why I'm Here: Spring 2009
Ryann Walton, junior: “I came to E-Media because I knew I wanted to work in audio production or radio. I found out about E-Media from my high school radio instructor who graduated from E-Media. I became a Bearcast DJ my freshman year and then worked up to become music director in my sophomore and junior years. Because of my involvement in Bearcast, I now intern at an Internet radio station in Cincinnati (WOXY.com) and plan to work in radio promotions or at a record label when I graduate.”
Matt Schroeder, junior: Throughout high school, I developed a love for video production. E-Media allows me to try a lot of different things. With a concentration in video production, I’m allowed to do what I love to do as well as explore aspects of media that I never thought I would try. I interned as a video editor in Munich, Germany in the summer of 2008. This experience was very helpful to me because working in a foreign country was the experience of a lifetime. I have enjoyed every minute in E-Media.”
Scott Waldrop, sophomore: When I started in E-Media, I had no idea what I wanted to specialize in. The program is great because you can take classes in every aspect of E-Media to help you find out what you want to do. It is exciting to take the hands-on classes and get to work with top-notch equipment. E-Media also has a lot of student organizations you can get involved in. I hope for a career in sports broadcasting and I know that this program will help me achieve my goal.”
Mark Bordicks, sophomore: I decided that I wanted to be part of E-Media when I was a junior in high school. I still believe that applying to Electronic Media was the best decision that I ever made. When I started I was heavily involved in video production, but my focus has shifted to either radio or advertising. I will always be thankful to the people who have made the Electronic Media Division an opportunity for me to gain experience, and I hope to continue to build on the knowledge that I have gained.”
