Chelsea Patthoff Honored

Electronic Media senior Chelsea Patthoff was recognized recently with the annual David J. Clarke Memorial Scholarship from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Manfred Wolfram, head of the E-Media Division, said "Chelsea's quiet, yet determined demeanor is respected by her peers. She is a model student who demonstrates her leadership qualities by example."

Chelsea's internship supervisor at Lightborne Communications also recognizes her talent and dedication.  Production manager Curry Winters said Chelsea "took her internship more seriously, was more self-motivated and held more responsibility than any other intern at the company.  She has a knowledge of equipment and understanding of the urgency of the production process that would make her an asset in any office or on any set."

Chelsea will graduate in December 2008 and plans on using the scholarship money to help her move into the "real world".  She hopes to become a television producer someday and is anticipating a move to San Francisco or Chicago.

She said she was honored to get the NATAS scholarship and appreciates the advice she got from media professionals at the awards ceremony.
