Are you Bunk enough?

Only five minutes from UC is a warehouse downtown that’s hosting some of the best live music and local art in Cincinnati.
Guerilla art movement known as “Bunk News” is now on the map in Cincinnati. On February 1st, 2009 Bunk News claimed a large warehouse located on 1818 John St. as there new art venue, “The Bunk Spot.”
“A bunch of people in different media throwing down their skills on projects; a lot of hands and minds that work together,” is how group member Ben Brown defined the art movement.
The Bunk Spot is different from other venues because it doesn’t have any rules and there is no set cover charge; you just donate as much as you want to get in.
“We’ll never turn someone away for not having money but we want to make it worth while for touring bands---the majority goes to the touring bands,” says Ben.
Bands of all genres from all around the nation have been coming to the Bunk Spot nonstop since its launch. The venue throws three to four shows a week, sometimes just film screenings.
Artists display their works and often come up with themes for their massive collaborations.
On May 15th Bunk Spot hosted a “virtual campout” in which woods were created through projections, recordings, and other forms of art and media such as videos of TV sets that display images of fire. There was live music by Indiana band Everthus the Deadbeats and Cincinnati’s own The Happy Maladies.
You can catch Ben Brown doing his video work and live projections during bands performances.
Check out the Bunk Spot on Facebook and Myspace and for more information.
" Bunk ART/MUSIC/FILM Space was born from the cataclysmic efforts of the collective minds of Ben Brown, the rest of Bunk News and the awesome power of a young Christopher Adams. In an attempt to curb all of those who loathe loving the city of Cin; we’ve started a spot to help prolong creativity, passion, and all things passable under the moniker of “ART”. So come and get crunk where its Bunk." --Pat Lake
